"The simple lines of my pieces provide a canvas for the surface decoration process, inviting the viewer to slow down and wander through the intricacies of the design while enjoying the comfort of a warm cup of tea or the smoothness of a hand-pulled handle. I'm inspired by nature and its patterns, its abundance and diversity."

Sam Lennon Fine Art
Sam Lennon
(mixed media)
"Inspired by nature, my collages use torn, handmade papers—chosen globally for their texture, pattern, and color—to create art that appears painterly from a distance. Up close, the unique details of each paper emerge. I choose collage for the rough boldness it allows and select subjects that are both personally meaningful and artistically challenging."

Katerina Evans
(mixed media, fiber arts, wood and sculpture, acrylic painting)
"Come see the magic of a working studio, with driftwood and paper, fabric and paint, altered books--so many wonderful things. I play with mixed media and anything that catches my interest. All are welcome"

(drawing, mixed media)
"It’s about visual interest. At least four voices are
involved: the piece’s basic concept, the conversation
among the colors, the color fields with their own
discussion, the lines and the dynamics among these
three. You can almost hear these voices!"

Michelle Schneider
(mixed media, jewelry)
"Art has always been something I shied away from. I thought of myself as a crafty person until polymer clay. It's a material I can create into so many beautiful pieces that become wonderful 3-D art. Being a part of the Muddy Creek Artists Guild community has opened my eyes to seeing my imagination and creativity as something special."

"In watercolor there is always an element of surprise, of chance. The colors blend on the paper; the paints flow. I'm always exploring other media, but so far, watercolor is still the medium that takes my breath away."

Roxanne Weidele
(landscape oil paintings and pastels)
"The environment can shift from breathtaking beauty to quiet calm, from raw power to subtle threat. Landscapes, for me, are never just seen--they are felt. With chalk pastels and oils, I seek not to record every detail, but to capture the pulse, the mood, the memory of a place. Through my work, I invite viewers to step into the moment and feel the spark that first stirred me."

~Planning Your Trip~

The studios will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., both Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, unless otherwise noted. You can visit one, some, or all of the participating artist studios.
Start your journey here!

1) Look through the participating artist directory above. Each entry provides you a bit about each artist and a sample of their work. The directory icons give you more information about what to expect at each studio.
2) Select the studios you "must see" and plot your basic route. If you're planning to visit multiple studios, we suggest your route follow studios by number--either forward from #1 or backward from #11. Of course, the adventurous among you wanting to meander a bit through lovely South County may choose to zigzag randomly between studios. Don't forget to support locally-owned restaurants along the way by stopping for lunch or dinner. Check out our raffle sponsors (on the map and described below) for dining suggestions.

3) Click on the map to see studio and sponsor addresses and to get driving directions. (Note: The map will become active on October 19th.) Just a reminder that while Google Maps and GPS can be very helpful in navigation, they are not always completely reliable in rural areas like this.
4) Follow the signs! Our distinctive road signs will help guide you on your journey to your destinations.
If you get turned around, don't worry. On tour days, each studio marker on the map will provide a phone number for the artist. If you find yourself in a pinch, don't hesitate to contact one of the artists for help getting back on track. Additionally, each studio will have a one-page handout with studio locations to support visitors who prefer paper over digital.
