The next Muddy Creek Artists Guild DoART event will feature how to make a portrait of your favorite pet with artist Bonnie McLeod. Join her for this artfully, fun evening. No experience necessary-whether you are a beginner or an advanced art maker, you’re sure to discover this new method of painting DoARTwith Bonnie very interesting. Supplies provided.
Bonnie will walk you through, step by step, how to turn your own reference pet photo into a painting. She likes to paint pups, but feel free to paint whatever animal you like! You will need to bring an 8X11 paper print out of your reference photo and she will teach you how to transfer it to the canvas. Bonnie brings all different colors and types of acrylic paints. Including luminescent, metallic, neon and glow in the dark paint.
Bonnie started making relief sculpture on wood several years ago when she was inspired to make something out of the boards from her daughter’s old toddlers bed. More recently she has taken up painting with acrylics and loves painting dogs in vivid colors on canvas and glass. She now teaches others to paint pet portraits at “Whoof on the Wharf” in Edgewater Maryland.
