MCAG Donates Over $3,000 to Central Special School

Updated: Jan 20, 2022

Edgewater, Md.—On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, members of the Muddy Creek Artists Guild (MCAG) presented a check for $3,471 to the art department of Central Special School in Edgewater. The money was raised through the Guild's Art Education Fund, which raffled off baskets of art donated by the Muddy Creek artists during their two pop-up art exhibitions in 2019.  The presenters from MCAG were members Patsy Card (left),  Patricia Watters (right), and Guild president, Anita Ewing (second from right).  The check was received by Central Special's art teacher, Gillian Connor, and the school's principal, Natalie Marston. The school plans to put the money towards the purchase of a pottery wheel for the art department.

Each year, MCAG selects one or more local schools to benefit from the money raised through its Art Education Fund. The recipients of the 2020 Art Education Fund are to be announced sometime this spring.
