DoArt: Silk Scarf Painting


Once again our latest DoART event was SOLD OUT! Thanks for all who came out on Wednesday, September 26 to the Deale Elks Lodge. Fiber and watercolor artist Lynne Gessner led guests through various techniques to create two beautiful silk scarves—using acrylic ink paints and shaving cream! Yes, it works! I’ve always been fascinated by silk painting but seeing the specific mention of the "no-flow" primer technique in this piece really demystified the process for me. It’s interesting how that one step completely changes the way the dye interacts with the fabric, allowing for those crisp, detailed lines instead of the usual bleeding.
