Artists in the Spotlight: Fall 2017–Winter 2018

Muddy Creek artist Lora Moran-Collins (above) was an "Artist in Action" at Annemarie Gardens in Solomons for 10 days in February. She painted, she sculpted and she engaged visitors in art experiences all along the way. The Guild sponsored a carpooling field trip to see her in action and we were not disappointed—she was a busy artist! Congrats, Lora!

The retired art teachers of Anne Arundel County are exhibiting in a show called " Second Wind" taking place at Quiet Waters Park opening January 13, 2018 through February 11. Muddy Creek artist Roxanne Weidele, who taught at Southen Senior High School for 31 years, has five works in the exhibit including "Beyond West River." The Opening Reception is Sunday, January 14th from 1:30–3:30pm. Congratulations Roxanne!

Muddy Creek painter Lora Moran-Collins has several works in the ACAAC "Light and Shadow" exhibit in the offices of What's Up? Annapolis at 201 Defense Highway in Annapolis. ACAAC also has an exhibit at BWI Airport between Concourses C&D entitled "Home is Where the Heart is" featuring photography by our own Rich Isaacman. Well done Lora and Rich!

Muddy Creek photographers Glenn Thompson and Jen Heinz have had their photographs selected to be part of the inaugural exhibit of the Maryland Photography Alliance. The initial display was at the Columbia Art Center in November, and now is being shown in the lounge area of the Maryland House of Delegates office building, located at 6 Bladen Street in Annapolis, through mid-April. Stop in and see it!
