Since its founding, the Guild has donated a portion of the annual net proceeds to fund scholarships for local students and to support art programs in South County. In 2017, the proceeds from our art basket raffle and net resulted in $2,750 in donations. Mike Dennis, President, and Joanne Riley, Outreach Chair, presented checks for $1,000 each to the art programs at Southern Middle School (top left) and Central Middle School (top right), and $750 to the Gail Henderson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Anne Arundel Community College.
Thank you to everyone who purchased raffle tickets during the shows, to the artists who donated work, and to our entire membership, as 20% of the Guild's net proceeds each year go to the scholarship fund. We plan to support the South County elementary school art programs in 2018.
The Muddy Creek Artists Guild provided the art programs of Southern and South River High Schools with checks for $1,075 each in recognition and support of the outstanding arts education being offered to students in these Southern Anne Arundel County schools. The funds distributed included raffle basket donations made by artists and show patrons during the art shows held by the Guild in April and November 2016, as well as 20% of the Guild annual net proceeds.
