Two of our Muddy Creek photographers, Rich Isaacman and Jen Heinz, have photographs featured in the new exhibit, "A Way of Life" at the Maryland Hall Chaney Gallery. This exhibit of photographs from the Digital Photo Club of Annapolis was juried by famed Annapolis photographer Jay Fleming and features more than 35 works on this theme. Jen Heinz received an Honorable Mention award for her image "The Blacksmith." Jay Fleming's photography will also be featured during this period at Maryland Hall in a gallery across the hall from the Chaney Gallery.

… Thanks to all of our friends and fans!
Many thanks to everyone who came out in support of our Spring Show, held April 20-29 in Edgewater. We had a great time talking with our visitors about our work! Not only did we get to showcase new work by more than 35 Muddy Creek artists, but we also featured artwork by artists at the Arundel Lodge, individual pieces by more than 40 elementary students from South County schools, and three large felted pieces created by Central ES students under the guidance of Muddy Creek artists Corinna Woodard and (their art teacher) Greta Morris. The Spring show is a judged show and we appreciate the time and consideration given to the awards by Janet Fry Rogers. The winners are noted below in the Spotlight on our Members. Special appreciation to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket or bought a wooden toy (created and donated by Dr. Francis Gouin)—we raised more than $1,700 to benefit our South County elementary school art programs. Wow—that's a record! All in all, a great show!
You are invited to the Muddy Creek Artists Guild’s 10th Annual Spring Art Show and Sale, “Artists on the Half Shell.” It will be held over two weekends – April 20-22 and April 27-29, 2018 - at the South River Colony Main Street shopping center in Edgewater, MD (across from The Steakhouse). The show will feature artwork from our South County artists including original paintings, photography, jewelry, pottery, textiles, glass and mixed media. The show is free to the public and everyone is welcome to browse the show and shop for unique artworks and gift items. This show features all new work by our artists and will be a judged show with awards given at the Opening Reception on April 20th.
Muddy Creek artist Lora Moran-Collins (above) was an "Artist in Action" at Annemarie Gardens in Solomons for 10 days in February. She painted, she sculpted and she engaged visitors in art experiences all along the way. The Guild sponsored a carpooling field trip to see her in action and we were not disappointed—she was a busy artist! Congrats, Lora!
The retired art teachers of Anne Arundel County are exhibiting in a show called " Second Wind" taking place at Quiet Waters Park opening January 13, 2018 through February 11. Muddy Creek artist Roxanne Weidele, who taught at Southen Senior High School for 31 years, has five works in the exhibit including "Beyond West River." The Opening Reception is Sunday, January 14th from 1:30–3:30pm. Congratulations Roxanne!
Muddy Creek painter Lora Moran-Collins has several works in the ACAAC "Light and Shadow" exhibit in the offices of What's Up? Annapolis at 201 Defense Highway in Annapolis. ACAAC also has an exhibit at BWI Airport between Concourses C&D entitled "Home is Where the Heart is" featuring photography by our own Rich Isaacman. Well done Lora and Rich!
Muddy Creek photographers Glenn Thompson and Jen Heinz have had their photographs selected to be part of the inaugural exhibit of the Maryland Photography Alliance. The initial display was at the Columbia Art Center in November, and now is being shown in the lounge area of the Maryland House of Delegates office building, located at 6 Bladen Street in Annapolis, through mid-April. Stop in and see it!
