The focus of the Guild is to show and sell local artwork throughout the greater South County area in Maryland while also educating our members and the public about our art, and contributing to the quality of life in South County. 
Toward that end, the Guild usually hosts three shows annually when a temporary "gallery" is installed at a South County location. Guild members have the option of participating in our various open, juried and thematic shows include original works from our members (over 100 artists) in a wide range of media: paintings, textiles, jewelry, clay works, sculpture, photography, pottery, wood and mixed media. 
Monthly membership meetings are held to encourage artists to share ideas/inspirations and their talents for upcoming shows and to network with other artists. We also host informal workshops, guest speakers and fun-filled field trips (name tags included!).

The Muddy Creek Artists Guild is offering a scholarship(s) to a graduating high school senior who resides in South Anne Arundel County that will be pursuing a post secondary degree in the arts.  Dead line for the application is February 25, 2013.  Click below for the application.

Muddy Creek Artists Guild Adopts Namesake
The Muddy Creek Artists Guild as part of their continued community
outreach has adopted a one mile stretch of Route 468 better known as
Muddy Creek Road. Muddy Creek Road, the highway the group was named
after, connects the Shady Side peninsula with the Annapolis mainland.
The Guild has made a commitment to pick-up litter from the one mile
section of roadway four times a year for a two year period. The program
allows Guild members to build pride in their community by helping to
establish a cleaner environment.

Membership

To join the Muddy Creek Artists Guild you must be a resident of or work in South County - south of the South River - and your art must be your original creation.

Membership is $40.00 annually plus the cost of exhibting. If you are interested in applying for membership, please download the file below and bring your completed application and $40 membership fee with 3 original examples of your art (work does not have to be framed), to the next peer review session.

New members are juried into the Guild quarterly, -- in April, July and October. The next peer review will be held at the Edgewater Library at 25 Stepney's Lane, Edgewater, MD  21037, on March 16, 2013, (Saturday morning). Also, current members that would like to be juried in for an additional art medium can also contact me for a time slot. (Stepneys Lane connects Mayo Road with Route 214, Central Avenue. The branch is located in the South County Government Center next to the South County Senior Center).

Applicants can preschedule a time slot to be reviewed by contacting Dave Parker at daveparker1@verizon.net or call
wk- 800-820-4814 or hm-410-867-2701.   Time slots are in 10 minute increments. We will review your work, ask questions, and you will recieve immediate notification of your application status. If you are not able to preschedule, you are still welcome to come to the peer review, but you may have to wait a long time to be seen.
