Purpose:
In addition to promoting original local art and an appreciation for the arts within South Anne Arundel County, Maryland, the Guild's purpose is to affirm, critique and sustain a personal investment in our members' art. Our Guild has varied interpretations of what we see as art and we will embrace our eclecticism in order to promote the Guild as a whole.
Next regular monthly meetings:
Board Meeting: Monday, February 6, 2012, 6:30 pm, at the Rosenwald Community Center
in Galesville, the first left turn as you drive into Galesville after the traffic light.
Please bring a snack or drink to share with
everyone (potluck).
Open Membership Meeting: Thursday, February 9, 7 pm at Cedarhurst
Community Center - 5187 Chesapeake Avenue, Shady Side, MD. 20764.

The Muddy Creek Artists Guild hosts monthly meetings (second Thursday of the month) at the Cedarhurst Community Center, 5187 Chesapeake Avenue, Shady Side. If the building is not available for future events, we will find an alternate location and send out updates. If you are a local South County artist and interested in joining or interested in being a patron, please stop by.
Objectives/Benefits and Guild Status:
The Muddy Creek Artists Guild now represents artists from all areas of South County (from the South River south to the Calvert County line). The range of work from artists of all ages and experience levels includes painting and drawing, metal sculpture, pottery, fabric design, graphic arts, photography, print making, original jewelry, mixed media, wood and assemblages.
If you are interested in joining the Guild, please complete the application on the homepage. Membership dues are $40 annually. Members can participate in the shows as they wish, but some shows will be juried. Show entrance fees will be about $40. Only original art work is acceptable. As a general guide, our shows should look more like galleries than craft fairs.
